#2 VPN – Secure Access to the University Network

When you need to connect to a university network remotely, for example when searching for articles from e-resources, use a virtual private network VPN. All you have to do is install a special VPN application and enter your UČO and secondary password, which is needed to log in.

#3 Use Online Tools for Cooperation

Are you going to create a joint seminar paper or prepare a team presentation? Use the university license for Microsoft Office 365 tools, which you can install for free on up to 5 devices. This allows you to work on joint projects with your classmates using online applications simultaneously.

#4 You Won't Lose any Data with OneDrive

Let's stay with online applications. If you don't already use OneDrive, fix it right away - the files stored in it are available at any time from any device connected online. In addition, f. e. when working in Word, files are saved on OneDrive after each change, which means that they are automatically backed up. If your laptop accidentally shuts down, you can rest assured that you haven't lost your three-hour job.

#5 One Note – Useful Helper for Capturing Ideas

Another of the Microsoft family of applications is the useful OneNote digital notebook, in which you can write/capture almost everything. You can write notes on a notebook, sketch ideas on a tablet, add a picture from your phone. Of course, there is the possibility of sharing it f. e. with classmates so that they can view and comment on your notes at the same time as you.

Are you looking for sources from which to learn for the exam, materials for your seminar, or an upcoming bachelor/diploma thesis? At MUNI, you can access unique scientific e-books, e-journals, databases, and other electronic resources. Try it and see what you have at your disposal!

#7 Change the Place of Study and Try the University Study Rooms

Learning always in the same place can sometimes be stereotypical and tiring. Try one of the ten computer study rooms located throughout Brno. The University Computer Centre (UCC) is in non-stop operation. On the overview page, you can find the current occupancy and opening hours of individual study rooms so that you know when to (not) go there.
