3D Print

Tips and Tricks

  • Suitability of the printed object
There are a large number of galleries of 3D print objects, but not all models are suitable; the downloaded object may not be created for the type of printer and the material we use on CPS.

  • Print setting
Sending a file to 3D print can look simple, but we recommend paying attention to the advanced print settings - it has a major effect on the printout success and the appearance of the resulting model. Its location and orientation are important as well.

  • Cooling
The most efficient cooling of the model is toward the back of the printer - then the sides - and the worst airflow is by the printer door. Faster cooling of the material has the advantage especially for small details or fine lines.

  • Print errors and interruptions
Errors in print or model settings may result in its destruction or poor printing. It is not possible to modify the object or settings once the printing has started. In case of the object being wrongly printed, ask the CPS staff to interrupt the printing.

  • Resistance of the material
The PLA material has a temperature resistance of up to 70 °C. The material is not suitable for printing fluid-retaining containers, as the layers leak.
