Change of Student PC Profiles in Study Rooms

Due to the simplification of administration and technical solutions, users' PC profiles in study rooms are being modified. Above all, the IT background and technologies are changing, but students will also notice small changes in their profiles.

First, we point out that there is no need to worry about losing data or anything else; the change is rather technological. You can find your original profile together with the backed up data on disk K (see the figure below) in the old_roamingprofile folder. It is still possible to use the scan folder to find your scanned documents.

The "new" student PC profile has a 25 GB capacity and a set limit that there is a risk of data loss if it exceeds 30 GB. Although the system will automatically notify you first, you should store all large data on disk K, which has unlimited capacity.

In the profile, you will now find the same content settings as you are used to from your home computers and laptops, i.e., classic folders such as Downloads, Documents, etc. To a greater extent, all possible application settings are also preserved, in case of problems, we recommend reinstalling them.

If you have any problems, please contact your faculty IT administrator.

TIP
Remember that profile files are only accessible from PCs in study rooms and computer labs - so we recommend using OneDrive from university Office 365 to access your documents from anywhere.
