Instructions: How to Upload and Share Documents on SharePoint?
If you want to upload a file to SharePoint (e.g. to a Microsoft 365 group or Teams storage that you are a member of), or if you want to create a new blank document in the repository, select a specific group or team.
2
Select users to share with by adding names or e-mail addresses – you can choose individual users (including external) or groups. An invite to share will be sent by e-mail to the selected users after clicking the Send button. Optionally, you can also accompany the invite with a custom message.
Sharing files and documents via anonymous links in SharePoint is not possible by default. You can change this setting:
- When creating a SharePoint website using the form.
- By contacting support with the URL of the site/group, the owner and selecting a setting:
- at it@muni.cz,
- or via the form.
1
Follow steps 1 to 3 from the Sharing a document with a specific user tab and open Sharing settings.
3
Set the desired editing rights, optionally the link's expiry date or password and click Apply.
Note: To reduce the risk of unauthorized access to documents, we recommend that you at least limit access by setting the date until which the user can access the documents. In general, we do not recommend sharing files using anonymous links – instead, use person-specific sharing.
