Connecting a folder from SharePoint to OneDrive on a PC

Folders from you Teams or SharePoint storage can be connected to the OneDrive application in a PC a be accessed also from Windows File Explorer, not only via the web interface.

In the Teams application or in the SharePoint web interface select the desired folder or document library and click the Sync button (may be hidden in the extended options under the three dots it the right side of the menu).

Note: We recommend using the Sync option, not Add shortcut to OneDrive. As the name suggets, the Sync function automatically synchronizes the data on your PC and on SharePoint.

How to fix a synchronization failure

If a synchronization attempt results in this failure message, follow the steps below.

In Windows File Explorer search for OneDrive - MUNI  and find the folder from which you added a shortcut (the icon should display a small chain in the bottom)

Right-click this folder and select Remove shortcut.

Wait for OneDrive to process the changes – this can take a while. You can check the state via the OneDrive icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.

The synchronization time may vary depending on the number of subfolders, files and the speed of your connection. If there are tens of thousands of items, it can take tens of minutes. You can monitor the status via the OneDrive icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Disconnecting a folder from SharePoint to OneDrive on a PC

To disconnect a folder from Teams or SharePoint which you no longer want to synchronize open the OneDrive application. You can find it in the bottom right corner of the screen with the blue cloud icon.

Click the OneDrive icon and move to Settings.

By selecting Account you can see which folders are synced. You can disconnect them by clicking Stop sync by the desired folder.
