Consent to the Processing of Personal Data

By granting this consent to the processing of your personal data, you give your consent for the Masaryk University, ID: 00216224, with its registered address at Žerotínovo nám. 9, 611 77 Brno, Czech Republic, contact: Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, Arna Nováka 1, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic (hereinafter referred to as the “Controller”) to process your personal data in accordance with the following conditions.

Scope of processing your personal data

The controller will process your personal data to the extent that you have provided it as related to the controller’s marketing activities, namely your subscription to e-mail, printed or phone messages. The controller will process your name, surname and e‐mail.

Purpose of processing your personal data

The controller will process your personal data for the purpose of direct marketing (i.e., offering products and services of the controller, but not of third parties), including distribution of commercial communications pursuant to Act No. 480/2004 Coll., on certain information society services, and analysis of your behaviour regarding these commercial communications in order to provide personalized offer of services.

Legal grounds for processing your personal data

The legal grounds for such processing consist in your consent and the fact that your personal data is required for the fulfilment of individual purposes of direct marketing you have subscribed to. Your personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation - Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27. 4. 2016 (hereinafter referred to as the “GDPR”).

Period of processing your personal data

The controller will process your personal data related to the purpose of direct marketing for the period of 5 years from the date you granted your consent to the controller to receiving an e-mail Newsletter of the Centre for Information Technologies, unless you withdraw such consent before the end of this period.

Withdrawal of consent to the processing of personal data

You can withdraw this voluntarily granted consent to the processing of your personal data at any time, free of charge, by sending an e-mail to the following address: cit@phil.muni.cz. You can also withdraw your consent directly from each commercial communication sent to you by e-mail. The lawfulness of data processing prior to withdrawal of your consent is not affected. Neither does the withdrawal of your consent affect the processing of your personal data by the controller on legal grounds other than your consent.

Persons with access to your personal data

Your personal data will be accessible by the controller and their employees.

Controller contact details

You can contact the controller by email: cit@phil.muni.cz or in person at the address of the controller’s office Arna Nováka 1, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic. The controller is entitled to require a proof of your identity in order to prevent unauthorized access to your personal data. In order to improve the quality of provided services and to keep records of the fulfilment of the legal obligations of the controller, all communication between you and the controller may be monitored.

Your rights related to the protection of your personal data

You have the right to withdraw your consent, to correct or supplement your personal data, to request restriction of processing, to object or to lodge a complaint against the processing of your personal data, and to request the transfer of data or access to your personal data at any time, without any penalty or negative consequence, by sending an e-mail notification to cit@phil.muni.cz. In addition, you have the right to be informed about a personal data breach as well as about the deletion of data and you have other rights set out in the GDPR.

The right to object

You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data if the controller processes it for direct marketing purposes. The objection must be submitted to the controller. In the event that you object to the processing for direct marketing purposes, the controller shall not further process personal data to this extent, unless they demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for such processing that have priority over your interests or rights and freedoms, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. More detailed information on this right is contained, in particular, in Art. 21 of the GDPR.

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

You can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority at any time regarding the processing of your personal data or the failure to comply with the obligations of the controller under the GDPR. The supervisory authority in the Czech Republic is the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), with its office at Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, Czech Republic www.uoou.cz.

The obligation to provide your personal data. Consequences of failure to provide your personal data.

You provide your personal data on a completely voluntary basis. You have no obligation to provide it. In the event that you do not provide your personal data, you will not face any penalty. However, if you do not provide personal data to the controller, they will not be able to send you individual marketing messages you have subscribed to (e.g., without your e-mail address, the controller will not be able to send you the Newsletter of the Centre for Information Technologies or any invitation to a course). Still, it is entirely up to you whether you wish to receive these communications or not.
