Microsoft OneDrive for Business
OneDrive is both a data storage in Microsoft 365 and also a document synchronization application.
1. Data Storage
OneDrive is storage in Microsoft 365 for personal (working, not private) documents that are available for each Microsoft 365 user.
2. Document Synchronization Application
OneDrive is an application that lets you connect OneDrive for Business storages and teams to your computer as folders and document synchronization to be available without an Internet connection.
What Functions Does OneDrive for Business Provide?
MUNI's OneDrive storage capacity for staff and students has been reduced from the original 1,000 GB (1 TB) to a lower capacity. The reason for this change is Microsoft's reduction in total available storage capacity (see the related article on it.muni.cz). If you are a student and your OneDrive is more than the quota below, it will be switched to read-only status. In this case, you will need to free up space below the stated quota in order to be able to work with OneDrive normally again. If necessary, you can request an exception at it@muni.cz to have your quota increased for a short period of time. |

Eligibility and Requirements
OneDrive for Business is a tool available to all users. To use it, it is enough to have basic computer skills. For basic use, it is needed just Internet browser. For a more comfortable use (including offline use), you need to install the PC sync application (included in Microsoft 365 packet). For OneDrive for Business, there are also applications for tablets and mobile devices. Microsoft 365 account is necessary for the use of OneDrive for Business.
