Electronic Information Sources

Remote Acces to the EIZ

The electronic information sources (EIZ) can only be reached from computers connected to the MU computer network. Access to the sources is also possible with remote access technology, when your computer connects to the university network from anywhere.

You can use the remote access technology when you want to connect to the electronic information sources from your computer and you are outside MU. You can join in several ways, their description and tutorials can be found here.

Remote access works only for universally available sources. Some faculties (especially the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Medicine) make their sources available only from the faculty computers. If you need remote access to the special faculty sources, you can try OpenVPN for selected faculties.

MU employees who access the sources from computers at the Brno University Hospital (FNB) have to set up the remote access from FNB. Employees accessing the sources from computers at St. Anne's University Hospital are recommended to access via EZproxy.

Notice:

For licensing purposes, remote access to EIZ is only allowed for current MU students and staff. Students with interrupted study or the MU graduates can not use remote access. However, they can access EIZ as registered users of MU libraries from the library computers.
