Dear colleagues,

We want to present our work for the past year, 2024. The main goals of 2024 included the following points:

• Design and realization of print materials for QR codes at entrance doors in Kotlářská
• Design and printing of door signs in the Kotlářská premises
• Implementation of a unified IS MUNI reservation system for all meeting rooms and classrooms of the Faculty of Science
• Migration of e-mail boxes from Elanor server to Microsoft 365 environment
• Migration and upgrading of legacy websites to cPanel environment
• Migration of student and staff devices (PCs and laptops) to the UCN domain
• Integration of virtual reality (VR) into educational activities
• Integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the learning process
• Establishment of shared storage for the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Science for efficient document management and review
• Automation of group management in the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Science for centralized document sharing
• Modernization of AV technology in AULE - securing the tender and support in project implementation
• Migration of user data of selected departments from OneDrive to SharePoint
• Migration from OpenVPN to the university and more secure eduVPN solution
• Installation of a new laser projector in the lower meeting room
• Equipping the OICT office with new furniture
• Cooperation on the PREGRAD artificial intelligence project
• Conversion of the Multimedia in Education I and II course to Digital Competences and Tools I and II - almost full occupancy of students
• Development of e-learning materials for selected subjects in the Umbraco environment
• 3D printing of models for promotional purposes of the PR department
• Deployment of inHouse Office working mode and gradual replacement of HW for compatibility WIN 11
• Active participation in OpenDay and Night of Scientists events
• Creation of a graphical overview to increase the prestige and visibility of research within Web of Science
• Cooperation within the Erasmus+ programme (City of Cadiz)
• Establishment of a communication channel for sharing experiences and IT support across the SCI staff (Umbraco and MS Teams)
• Gradual introduction of PCs into central administration at the Institute of Geological Sciences
• Review and optimization of battery backup systems (UPS) in all buildings
• Upgrading of network connections in Building 8
• Increasing firewall security and updating the attendance system in the Botanical Garden
