Sections and subsections

In the previous article, we looked at how the visual appearance of the course title page has changed and how it can now be edited. We will stay with the title page today.

You may already have divided your course into weeks or thematic sections. Now, however, you can also create smaller divisions within each section—subsections, which you can easily add using the "+" button (in edit mode). These allow you to better organize individual sections or clearly summarize what students have learned in a given week or section.

Sub-sections can be clicked on, so students can view only what they need without unnecessary scrolling. Unfortunately, sub-sections can cause problems if you use a course layout that allows only one section to be displayed per page – in this case, you can only see the sub-sections if you click on the section in question.

The changes also affect the sections mentioned above. Clicking on a section name will no longer collapse or expand the section, but will display it as a separate page. Do you want to quickly collapse or expand a section as you used to? Now you can do this using the small arrow to the left of the section name. Use it to collapse the content without leaving the main course overview.

Adding new content

And finally, one more practical new feature that can save you time and clicks. You no longer need to add new activities at the end of a section and then move them.

Now, in edit mode, you can insert an activity or study material exactly where you need it—simply by clicking the “+” button that appears after each activity within a section or subsection.
