With the arrival of the new semester comes a fresh installation of ELF, which—as every year—brings several improvements and new features. We will gradually inform you about all the changes in a series of articles, or you will soon find them clearly described in our updated documentation.
What's new at first glance? For example, new icons – smaller, more elegant, and clearer. Yes, we all wanted them. And here they are!
The course home page has also been improved – it is more compact and visually appealing. You may feel that you should add more content to the course now that everything is so beautifully organized at first glance. But let's not forget: the amount of content should correspond to the credit load of the course. Sometimes less really is more.
You will notice other changes as soon as you switch to edit mode. The icons no longer display the module names directly below them. But don't worry—just hover your mouse over the icon and the name will appear immediately. So even if you can't recognize a module by its appearance at first, navigating the course remains easy and intuitive.
And here's another practical new feature that will be especially appreciated by those of you who work with a large number of activities: bulk editing of modules and sections. You'll find it—again—after switching to edit mode, specifically in the upper right corner, just above the edit mode switch.
What can this feature do? It allows you to easily select multiple elements at once and bulk duplicate, move, delete, or hide them from students. This makes working in the course a little more efficient.
Are you interested in any of the new features in more detail, or would you like to discuss them? Write to us at elf@phil.muni.cz or arrange an individual consultation with ELF user support. We will be happy to assist you.
