The presentation will introduce experiences with innovating a course focused on an introduction to academic writing, in which generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is used as a tool for providing ongoing feedback on student work. The innovation of the course responds to the need to ensure consistent, frequent, and high-quality feedback with a large number of students and limited staff capacity. The presentation will show you how we use GenAI as an aid in formative assessment and the development of skills needed for writing academic texts. The presentation will also include a brief introduction to the technical solution and a summary of initial experiences from pilot testing among students.
