Warning: spear-phishing campaign targeting IS MU login credentials
The Cybersecurity Team of Masaryk University warns of an ongoing spear-phishing campaign aimed at stealing login credentials for the Masaryk University Information System.
At the start of the semester, the CIKT at ECON MUNI launched an upgraded Study Online (SOL) system, which is used for recording and streaming lectures. The system has undergone significant changes to better meet the needs of both instructors and students, and to enhance its reliability.
One of the key improvements is the replacement of the previous recording devices with new machines using open-source OBS software. This change brings greater stability and eliminates issues that previously occurred during recordings. Additionally, the core system has been simplified, improving its overall functionality.
Another major enhancement is the replacement of the old rear-room cameras with new FHD cameras positioned closer to the board. As a result, instructors now have access to three different recording modes:
Instructors can easily switch between these modes during lectures directly in SOL.
The new streaming server is another improvement, designed to significantly enhance live broadcast stability. Previously, streams would occasionally freeze, requiring users to refresh their browsers. These issues should now be resolved.
Although the new system has been thoroughly tested, we anticipate that minor adjustments may be necessary in the first few weeks of the semester. However, with better system monitoring in place, we can quickly detect and resolve any potential issues.
