A unique e-loans application, an amazing package of Office 365 applications, or, for example, an overview of PC study rooms with current occupancy. Eight students have chosen eight services that make studying and collaborating at the university easier. Read about their benefits and how to (easily) use them.

# 1 Without Wi-Fi it's Not Even Possible

Even with unlimited mobile internet, you will appreciate that the secure Wi-Fi network Eduroam completely covers all areas of Masaryk University. Logging in is simple and once and for all. How to do it?

"You need to know your UČO and secondary password. Once you log in, you don't have to do it again. The device is automatically connected in every MUNI building and even in other academic facilities in the Czech Republic and worldwide, where they are using Eduroam. Like at the university in Estonia, where I went for my Erasmus. "

– Radka, student of Faculty of Arts

– Marek, student of Faculty of Sports Studies

# 2 PC Study Room and Nonstop Open UCC

At MUNI, you can visit all ten computer study rooms located throughout Brno. Not only for night owls but for anyone wanting to study (anytime), the University Computer Centre (UCC) is available 24/7. On the overview page, you can also find the current occupancy and opening hours of individual study rooms so that you know when to (not) visit them.

"My friend's computer recently broke when she was writing the last pages of her seminar, and she was to hand it over the next day. I sent her a link to IT MUNI, where she quickly and easily found the nearest computer lab. In a moment, she was able to continue working and managed to finish the seminar on time. "

# 3 Collaborate and Study Online

For easier cooperation with classmates, you will use the university license Microsoft Office 365, which you can have for free on up to 5 devices. The MS Teams communication platform (the basis for online study), a package of office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and other tools such as To Do or Forms will be your faithful friends in either collective or individual work.

"Right at the beginning of last academic year, I installed the OneDrive storage, where I back up important files. When my laptop broke while writing the seminar, I didn't have to worry about my work."

– Míša, student of Faculty of Informatics

– Edita, student of Faculty of Social Studies

# 4 Not Satisfied with the Photo in IS? Change it!

Every student is photographed after enrolment for identification cards and university information systems. But what to do if the photo is not so lovely? Don't despair, but change it - re-shooting is possible throughout the whole year.

"On the day of the photoshoot for the IS a year ago, I didn't catch up at all, it was hot, and I missed the tram. The taken photo looked terribly, and I agreed that I would have it on my profile for a few more years. However, I found out that there is a possibility to have another photo taken for free. Try to guess who was first in line at the first possible date and waiting to be photographed."

# 5 VPN - Secure Access to the University Network

You can use a virtual private network (VPN) to connect to a university network remotely. At the same time, it ensures the security of your connection, even from unknown networks. All you have to do is install a particular VPN application and enter your UČO and secondary password, which is needed to log in.

"Last year, I ended up in quarantine and needed an article from e-resources for the seminar. I couldn't leave the house, so I used a VPN connection. Now I use it usually (for example, on the road), and it saves me time. "

– Anežka, student of Faculty of Medicine

– Dominik, student of Faculty of Science

# 6 Print Everywhere at the University

Even in today's digital age, you will appreciate paper and printed notes from a friend sometimes. At faculties and dormitories, you can find over 40 printers, which, in addition to printing from a school PC, you can also print from a laptop, e-mail, or mobile phone. In addition, in UCC, we offer the possibility of large format and 3D printing.

"I downloaded my study confirmation for the part-time job, but they wanted it printed out. Thanks to the page, which contains a list of all available university printers including a price list, I found out the nearest printer in a moment and printed everything I needed on it."

# 7 E-Resources and Unique E-Loans Applications

Thanks to studying at MUNI, you have secured access to unique scientific e-books, e-journals, databases, and other electronic resources. You can also use the special e-loans service to access more than 10,000 selected books from university libraries.

"Libraries closed last semester, and suddenly, I found myself without resources for my seminar. Fortunately, I discovered IT MUNI, where they presented e-resources and newly created e-loans, thanks to which I got access to the scanned books."

– Terka, student of Faculty of Economics and Administration

– Eva, student of Faculty of Law

# 8 You Won't Get Lost at MUNI with Us

Whether you are at university for the first time or you are an experienced student, you can use munimaps, thanks to which you will not get lost at MUNI. Munimaps clearly show the premises of all buildings of Masaryk University, including rooms.

"At the beginning of my studies, I was unable to orient myself while running to various lectures and exercises. The munimaps helped me a lot, thanks to which I found out the exact place in the building where I had my class."
